Upland Bird Hunting in this Association is on 100% wild game on private land we have for our exclusive use.

We offer a flexibility in time and location. Association hunters may hunt any time during the entire season. Each may hunt as many days as they have time to do so. All may hunt more than one trip per season. Location is also of choice with all may hunt a different spot each time stepping from their truck.

All hunts are self guided. We will assist with recommendations that will get the hunter to the point of where he parks his truck, steps out and puts his dogs on the ground. A local lodging listing is available on our web site. From that point on the hunter is on his own, at his own pace, not mixing his dogs with others. Read some more about our Upland Bird Hunting.

Kansas Pheasant Hunting

Kansas pheasant hunting covers a variety of terrain from well known tall grass, to brush filled draws to crop fields. Each may combine a pheasant and Bobwhite hunt on the same trip. Many times when a dog is on point or running to flush it is a guess to what will come up. See Kansas pheasant hunting for more details.

Iowa Pheasant Hunting

Iowa pheasant hunting is within south central Iowa's Grand River watershed adjoining Missouri's better Bobwhite regions. There will be much feed to hold both upland birds in this soybean and corn heavy farm country. Most years Kansas pheasant have provided the better hunts than Iowa. Maps and hunter pictures see, Iowa Pheasant Hunting.

Missouri Pheasant Hunting

Missouri pheasant hunting is the least of our pheasant. Iowa has twice the pheasant and half that of Kansas. Those that travel to Missouri should do so with quail in mind, this is where our historically best quail hunts are found. The smaller fields and more cover per mile of walking makes it the easiest place to watch dogs work. Missouri Pheasant Hunting

Missouri Quail Hunting

Missouri quail hunting covers miles of crop edge in the heavily upland bird supporting grain farming region of north central, northwest and south west central. Many small fields cut by wet and dry drainage's connecting brush areas provide the linear edge quail thrive within. Missouri is where to hunt for quail free of overlapping pheasant populations. Hunt a different field each time stepping from the truck and have good long range eyes on your dogs. More details see Missouri Quail Hunting.

Kansas Quail Hunting

Kansas quail hunting overlaps that of pheasant with the majority of it along crop field edges and waterways. Kansas will rival Missouri for Bobwhite Quail. Mixed upland bird cover of tall grass and brush filled draws breaks the routine making for the most pheasant density than elsewhere. Once tired of walking the tall grass running the dogs down a draw will offer some relief. Regional Kansas upland bird distribution and acreage maps with habitat pictures see Kansas Quail Hunting.

Iowa Quail Hunting

Iowa quail hunting is the longest of our seasons starting the last of October through the last of January. This is largely an unknown upland bird hunting asset isolated to the southern reaches of the state. A combination Iowa and Missouri hunt allows for an increasing number of pheasant north into Iowa, less roosters and more quail the further traveled south. Iowa Quail Hunting

All upland bird hunting and hunter pictures on this web site have been gratefully offered at the courtesy of the Association self guided hunter.

Currently, with over 200,000 acres of private land access we cover a breadth of the central mid-west that allows for one or more localities that will have an up year if another locality may have a bad hatch. Hunters will find that our various regions of habitat differences and upland bird diversity to find one will more meet their dog power and style than others. That area will become a favored spot to return to for subsequent hunts while on the same trip new land may be explored. That extra motivation of covering new ground maybe all that is necessary to motivate one more trip each season.

Our long history has given us much experience working with the do it yourself hunter to get him to the point of where to park his truck, step out and hunt. Both of the Association partners, those that are responsible forgetting each hunter where he needs be, train and hunt their own dogs. When coordinating first of the next trip each will have confidence of getting onto the cover and upland bird of choice.

Recommendations are based on our personal experience using an online map library of road maps that gets the hunter to where he needs to be. Land reservations are by telephone to a live person. We will also insure that the upland bird hunter is traveling to the region of his pheasant or quail and habitat of preference. He will also have a Plan 'A' and 'B' insuring he has a choice each day of where to hunt.
