| This next part of the picture series is about as bad as it gets.
Pictured is an Osage Orange, aka hedge apple, fence line. The trees grow in a manner that allows the area next to the trunk at ground level to be open allowing for plenty of quail movement. The outside branches grow reaching down to ground level and effectively stop hunter movement with a gun while allowing dogs to penetrate for point. Any covey find or single quail point in this cover is often lost for a shot opportunity. Placing such cover on a property line means the covey more likely to flush away rather than into the hunted farm. |
