Late Season Quail Habitat 18

Quail hunting has come down to only those with a strong history of bird dogs and past years quail hunts continue to quail hunt. Those that do quail hunt are of the more senior set of hunters ranging to the point of being in the stone age with film/paper picture cameras and computers limited to hand held calculators. Quail hunters are also less likely to take pictures. Those few that do, do so more for pictures on their wall than this website. Those that do send in their photos are well respected recognizing fully the extra effort it takes to carry the camera, capture many more pictures than what are saved and to send them in. Those that do send in pictures also send them in every year and to some extend make it appear on this website that only a few actually quail hunt. These hunters, their dogs and field scenes are but a small percentage of what exists.

We ended up hunting 5 farms and found four coveys. We shot 7 birds and did not follow singles to give the birds a break since the weather was turning bad.

TJ and Libby were both on point at the same time. We went in on Libby and flushed a covey. PJ stayed on point through the covey rise and shooting and held a single that must have strayed from the covey.
