By now you get the idea that when looking for upland birds tranquility comes from hunting the way we all want it. Plenty of birds and great bird dog work at your pace without competition for others or their dogs. That is exactly what this picture shows. The rooster shot off this point and the covey that followed just down the same draw are a very faded memory. The vision of this bird dog on point in what can only be seen as ideal cover for upland birds will long live past when the last dog has died and the shotgun put up for the last time.

It is such moments as the one above captured in a split second of time that mean more than any number of upland birds in the bag. The real hunter knows the cost of such moments is nickels on the hour for the quality time spent in the field. It may be the bird dog hunter knows this better than anyone else. The serene value of spending an entire day walking fields and draws watching upland birds, their dogs work and nature itself just for that one point when we all realize why it is we hunt.

This Association has many more non-quantifiable advantages that simply do not exist elsewhere. The most impressive is its longevity. Any organization that has been in continual existence since 1965 must have some greater value than shorter experienced organizations. This value is frequently expressed in the many pictures on the web site. For any one organization to have such an abundance of success must impress even the most discerning perceptions.

The Association budgeting process is dependent on a stable membership. This makes the organization's staff motivated to retain hunters rather than seek new ones. To retain hunters the central focus is on retaining and improving the good hunting on a yearly basis. The idea is quality hunting retains a quality hunter that in turn sustains the organization. In a world of diminishing services provided by the service provider this organization is refreshing.

The true value of the Association is held within the personal wherewithal of the Association staff. They are first  hunters over their own bird dogs. This provides the first hand experience necessary for managing hunting to ensure we can all have days like the one in the picture above.
